Game 1 – vs Kinoulton Falcons Won 137 runs to 115 runs
Game 2 – vs Radcliffe on Trent Won 134 runs to 115 runs
Kinoulton Eagles made a winning start to the season with two hard fought victories in their opening matches against Kinoulton Falcons and Radcliffe on Trent. With Maya R, Joseph N, Tom S and Tom W all making their debuts, tight bowling was the key to their success.
Game 1 against the Falcons (who also had a number of younger players making their first appearances for the club), was a good introduction to the season for both teams, but following on from their accurate bowling some great boundaries from Lewis, Tom S and Tom W saw the Eagles home.
Game 2 against a much older Radcliffe team saw Tom W, the Eagles captain, win the toss and elect to field. The bowlers then backed up this decision with a fantastic display, especially from Tom W, Thomas N, Tom S and Toby who gave away only 6 runs from the 4 overs they bowled between them. Victory was assured with a superb team batting display with boundaries being struck on a regular basis by Lewis, Thomas N and Toby. A great start to the season! Well done to all those that took part.
