Match Reports
6th July vs Keyworth
A much improved team performance resulted in a magnificent win. Kinoulton won the toss and chose to bat first. Some very good determined straight batting, as taught in the nets, paid dividends. Some great batting results from the pairs, and only losing 5 wickets.
Fielding practice the night before evidently paid off!! the boys were alert and switched on to the task. Some great run outs as a result.
The boys stuck at their bowling, and are beginning to show true team spirit, working together. Hopefully they can now go on to win a couple more before the end of the season.
Well done lads!!

18th May vs Plumtree
the U12s visited Plumtree with 7 boys and 3 girls. Plumtree batted first and each pair played carefully. The kinoulton bowlers found wickets hard to come by but stuck to the task well.
PLumtree finished on 285-3, net score 267. Josh Childs 1-8, Max Kidd 1-12, Matt Robinson 1-18 were the wicket takers.
The Kinoulton reply began badly with wickets tunmbling and losing 4 early wickets, the victory target was an uphill struggle. The team battled, but noone was able to score freely against the home side tight bowling. Katie Bailey 6 n/o and Max Souter 5 n/o were the highest scorers, net score 222.
Plenty of work for Friday evenings; straight bats, running ansd calling between the wickets.
4th May vs Gedling
Kinoulton youth hardball team, resplendent in their new kit kindly donated by Frontline Recruitment Ltd and featuring a trio of girls, lost their opening match to a briskly efficient Gedling team.
Starting on 200, Kinoulton progressed to 266 for 8, with useful contributions by Sowter, Robinson and Elliott. Gedling batted sensibly to make 267 for just 1 wicket down, with Childs, Kidd and Morris being the pick of the bowlers and Robinson picking up the wicket. The team showed a lot of promise but need to be tighter in the field. MB
