Kinoulton U11's travelled to Caythorpe for their first game of the 2007 season in the Notts Youth League.
Last year an inexperienced Kinoulton side were comprehensively beaten by an experienced Caythorpe team, however this time the tables were turned. Kinoulton fielding seven of the players from last season showed the progress they had made during the winter coaching and turned in an all round performance that was described by coach Gary Baker as "near perfect". The batting was a mix of solid defence and selective shot making. The calling and running between wickets was excellent and KCC U11s accumulated a score of 83.
Caythorpe's batsman struggled throughout their reply due to some early tight KCC bowling and consequent loss of wickets from which they never recovered. The enthusiasm in the field shown by KCC U11s and the motivation between the players showed an appetite for the game. They have set the standard for the season and are already looking forward to the next game.
